Gomel is a city in Belarus, the administrative center of the Gomel region, the second most populated city in the country. Located in the south-east of the Republic of Belarus on the Sozh River.

One of the largest educational and research centers of the Republic of Belarus. There are 12 faculties and 2 research institutes at GSU. The higher education process is carried out in 35 specialties of the first stage of education and 22 specialties of the second one, 69 specializations. The university has 135 international cooperation agreements with 30 countries worldwide.
